Critic Stole Star Wars

One of the great things about Star Wars is the thriving 'Expanded Universe' that is continually growing through books, comics, and games. With dozens of titles, it is easy to understand that the cast of characters has grown beyond who we see in the movies.

As part of an ongoing series, I will be looking at some of the major characters from the Expanded Universe. This week's focus is Rebel Squadron pilot and Jedi Knight Corran Horn.

Corran Horn stands out as a major character in the Star Wars Universe, but has never been seen in any of the Star Wars movies. Like Mara Jade, Corran has become a fixture of the Star Wars Universe for book and comic readers, but unlike Mara, he did it as a leading character of several stories.

Corran was created by author Michael Stackpole as the lead character in his surprising good X-Wing book series. I say surprisingly good not for Stackpole's abilities, but for the way the book series was set up.All the Fans down in Fanville loved Star Wars a lot - but the Critic who lived just north of Fanville did not!

While it was true that no one quite knew the reason he hated Lucas and declared the prequels an act of treason. Some said it was because his tie was tied too tight - others because his glasses just didn’t let him see right. All that was known was the bitterness of his film reviews arguing how the Force now only inspired him to take a snooze.
